Mount Argentario

La costa dell'ArgentarioThe Argentario promontory is one of the most fascinating spots in the Mediterranean area. Thanks to its outstanding landscapes of bays, small islands and cliffs covered with the typical Mediterranean vegetation, this portion of Maremma has become an important tourist attraction.

Today the promontory is solidly anchored to the dry land by two sand-gravel causeways (Tombolo di Giannella and Tombolo della Feniglia). These two strips of land progressively bonded the original island to the hinterland, not in the least decreasing Argentario ancient insular traits.

Maremma - Monte ArgentarioHills and slopes falling straight down to the sea, amazing panoramic views that include the hinterland and some of the islands belonging to the Tuscan Archipelago: this is the wild land where the Mediterranean bush is luxuriant and more than a thousand different botanical species can be counted. This is the perfect place for those who love walking, trekking or just resting in the peace of nature.

Mount Argentario, however, is much more than just rest and relaxation, offering especially in summer its sea, the sun, the beach, many different sports and a lot of fun. The two coastal towns, Porto S.Stefano and Porto Ercole, are in fact busy and prestigious tourist attractions.
